Tips for Maximizing Your Workout
Your workout routine is part of your schedule that you rarely allow anything or anyone to compromise. Maintaining your weight, metabolism and energy level is essential for staying healthy and active, but you may wonder how to improve your sessions to achieve the maximum results. There is a considerable amount of information concerning workout preferences available online. However, some sites rely on unproven techniques and trendy gimmicks to promote their workout methods rather than scientific studies.

Be the Mask
I have a saying I use when I need to focus my mind and ignore a consistent annoyance, ‘be the (issue)'. We have some bugs where I live that come about in the summertime called Gnats, and they annoy me beyond words. So, when we are outside enjoying the weather and they are persistently plaguing us, I say to my kids 'be the Gnats' and they try to focus their minds through deep breathing on our activities and less on the Gnats. So, now COVID-19 has changed our lives and our minds struggle to develop new habits like wearing masks and social distancing. Both are incredibly challenging for me because I am Jamaican and we are expressive with nods, touches, jabs and pokes and a very interactive hello, but I'm learning. You see I am mindful of the pandemic's reality even though I have no fear in it. My attention or you can say my faith is placed on being proactive to boost the spiritual and immunological aspect of the members of my household. So, prayer, diet, exercise, water, detoxing, and lots of sun are our priority. But we do not ignore precautions and the law.

Gratitude Walk
I have a very analytical mind which means it's running all the time analyzing every aspect of life. So when I need to excape my mind for a bit it's always good to do so with a walk. When I was younger if I was really upset or had a problem I would usually go for a walk and by the end of the walk I felt better or better yet I had a solution. Evidently there is some science behind focusing on the eviroment around you to engage your mind in a bit of focused meditation. But I am no scientist so I can only tell you my experience. I know when I would walk I would focus on the beat of the music and keeping that pace. When I would walk for long distances I would just focus on the beauty of nature around me to distract my body from how many more miles I had to go if my body was tired. These days walking is a daily thing I do to get my ideas together and come up with plans. Or even just to unload all the work stuff of the day. I prefer walks these days because it allows me to observe my enviroment more intently. It allows me to do what most people suggest but never do and that is to actually stop and smell the flowers, which is acutally quite lovely if you feel so inclined. Also I have my walks that are purely medatative and help me release stress and figure out my issues.

Take a Walk
If I had the power to teleport myself to any open space in the middle of nature, a space away from the noisy street, overwhelming technology, to a space away from my problems…I would probably choose to teleport to an infinite green field in Switzerland. Unfortunately, my human ordinary self can’t do this, but I discovered an alternative practice that brings me the peace and quiet that my body and mind deserve.

Gym Etiquette
The gym, a land of iron and goal crushing potential. It can either be a comfort zone or the most terrifying place one could step into. Like many recreational places one can go to pass time and/or self improve, the gym has a certain set of etiquette rules that everyone should follow. This helps to make the environment more comfortable, workouts more efficient and reaching goals more enjoyable for everyone.
