Poem?

By Paul StewartPublished a day ago 1 min read
A Woman at her Toilet by Jan Steen, in the Royal Collection, Buckingham Palace, London. oil on panel 66 x 53 cm signed c.l.: JSteen inscribed c.r.: 1663

Anus horribilus
If you don't wipe
Not too hard tho
Or the paper turns
Well.. what?
-
brown plus red:
Terra cotta
Toilet Rosetta stone-like
Parchment, Or scroll
Of problematic bowels
-
Someone said annual
I heard anal
-
Someone said therapist
I screamed
Sex offender

Thanks for reading!

Little bit of Tuesday subversive fun.
Isn't language fun.
Or is this just me hiding darker, more serious themes beneath a swirling sea of sewage?

That was clever and funny, if not a little bit of morbid, Paul!

It's worse when it's a psychotherapist because it becomes "Psycho, the Rapist" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Loved this!

Hahaha! I am VERY resistant to calling myself “therapist”!

I read the title, and I was like WHAT?! Then I said, only Paul could write something like this. I checked and I was right. I don't even know which line shocked me more. 🤣Brilliant!

  • Eh..subversive it is. Escalated from Latin into something else quickly! Well done on that, Paul.

  • When I saw the poem pop up in my notification ls I thought "Oh, no! A typo!" I was SO not prepared for the it to be intended, well done 🤣

Are the two mutually exclusive? Isn't the point of subversive humor to approach the unapproachable?
