Sarcastic Poetry
Well, this really bites. I thought Vocal was going to be the future of journalism, it's not. I thought Vocal was going to be a new career for me, it's not. I thought Vocal was going to produce fresh, original, and authentic writers who could lead lovers of the word into the future, it's not. Vocal is just another loser like Allpoetry filled with pompous, lazy, untalented people who will use the cheapest tricks like Ai and Grammerly and any other dimwitted lazy tactic they can find to pretend that they are actually writers. They're not. Congratulations on another Top Story. They might as well call that the Plastic Ai Award. Good bye Vocal. You're nothing but a dream squashing bologna sandwich with fake cheese. Your Top Stories are probably calculated by some formula put into the computer program that spits out the carefully chosen Ai contributions that have paid to keep this website online. I am disillusioned again, but I'll recover my dignity and clarity quicker than in the past. Tell all those bozos at the most noble, honorable, and highly esteemed institutions (like M.I.T) that their new apps and websites are even worse than their old ones and if no one cares about the History or English professors, then no one cares about your new tech class or invention.

The Merella Papers. Top Story - March 2025.
Note: this poem was written about a very personal moment in my life. I met my half-sister when I was living and working in MontrƩal as a grad student. I saw her photograph when I was a teenager, but it was many years before we met. And I wrote this as a way to understand my emotions and feelings about chance, love and how life can throw you curves you never expect.
