Cannabis and CBD Oil
The Cannabis plant is a complex plant containing a variety of compounds. Of these compounds, a cannabinoid is one chemical compound that acts on cannabinoid receptors in cells that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain. The three cannabinoid compounds most commonly studied are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabinol (CBN). The plant's components can be used for purposes such as recreational uses, as well as for a variety of other medical purposes. As a drug it comes in the form of dried flower buds (marijuana), resin (hashish), or extracts known as hashish oil. The three main species of this plant that are now recognized are the Cannabis Sativa, the Cannabis Indica, and the Cannabis Ruderalis. With a wide range of medical benefits, each strain has its own range of effects on the body and mind.

The Health Benefits of CBD
CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of more than 100 chemical compounds called cannabinoids found within cannabis sativa, better known as marijuana. Because CBD comes from the marijuana plant, most people immediately think they will become “high” or “stoned” if they use CBD. That isn’t true at all, though. The psychoactive effects of marijuana are caused by another cannabinoid known as delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. CBD, on the other hand, is not psychoactive and will not induce any type of “high.”
