controversies
It seems every time one racially-charged incident ends, a gender or religious controversy takes its place; Ruminate on the issues dividing our nation and world.
Stop the Violence
Today, we live in a world where mental health and gun violence are the norm. Unfortunately, as of March 5th, 2018, there have been 19 school related shootings resulting in countless lives lost. Psychopathic behavior of copycat serial killers using AR-15s for premeditated murder and the dilemma of the individuals' 2nd Amendment to purchase guns. Unfortunately, “We the People” voted qualified representatives into Congress to protect children and adults, yet casualties do not meet the gun control standards. My heart pours out to the families begging for help while individuals in charge wait for the next incident to occur to act. How many people must be buried before it becomes a state of an emergency? America is in a crisis in the crimes against kids at schools. Urban community deaths are rising, and criminal offense acts, too.

Oakland Obstruction? Did Mayor Libby Schaaf Violate the Alien Harboring Act?
A recent tweet on twitter after Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf warned her Sanctuary City of upcoming Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) law enforcement action read: By alerting law breakers, any 'death by illegal' or even injury by same in @Oakland is on your Mayor. Best lawyer up, I would think. #ICE #Obstruction.

Standing in Solidarity with My American Colleagues—Ban Guns.
So, this week, my profession has been under scrutiny again—not in the UK, but in America, where their illustrious leader decided that it would be a great idea to get the teachers in their schools to carry guns.

A House Divided
It is not uncommon for there to be two schools of thought in this country on many different topics. I, for one, like to keep my conservative roots alive. Although, it is not uncommon for me to make exceptions to my disagreements based on weather or not the argument is really worth wasting time talking about, I believe that the liberal democrats have made some drastic mistakes. But that is not to say that we republicans haven't made an even bigger mistake by coming back at the liberals with our old-timey values that really have no place in the world today.

Buying into an Agenda
Mr. Marco Rubio, you were asked by a seventeen year old mass shooting survivor if you would accept any money from the NRA after this. The only answer you could give is that “people buy into my agenda.” You completely deflected the question, which tells me your answer is no. You and your politician friends are the lowest life form on earth. You are beneath scum. Basically, what you told this young man is that the bastards at the NRA support you, they line your pockets with cash, and you continue to do their bidding. This is not an acceptable answer.

Guns in Your Grandchild's America
This is about the future America our kids and grandkids will grow up in. If you want that future to look like the present or the past, I'd suggest you stop reading here. If you appreciate the concept of forward motion and progress in the human species, please continue.

To Shoot, or Not to Shoot...
In the wake of the recent mass shooting in Florida, it’s left people searching for answers. We need solutions to a widespread issue that’s taken numerous amounts of innocent lives, and scarred many others forever. Whether you’ve been a victim or have been connected to a victim of crimes like these, we can all agree that something needs to be done about it.

I Will Die for Your Kids
As I sit here on my bed, having just received news of school being cancelled due to an ice storm, I can't help but think of the recent school shooting tragedy. You see, I'm not a teacher...yet. I'm trying my best to become one. I have wanted to become a teacher for many years and now I'm on my way. I was supposed to be in my assigned classroom where I learn under a mentor teacher. The thing about today is it was supposed to be the first time back in a classroom since the shooting in Florida.
