Can We Back the Train Up?
Sacramento, California is known for its awe-inspiring museums - the train museum is popular with kids of all ages, myself included. On special days throughout the year, the city opens all of its museums up for free, attracting crowds from all over the State. February 1st, 2020 was just a few short months ago, but it seems like several lifetimes ago now.

The Aegean Awaits...Just Over My Balcony
“They’ll kill you. It’s not safe!” “Who’ll kill us, Mom?” “ISIS…” As it turned out, ISIS didn’t kill us when we moved to the Aegean Sea coast of Turkey. In fact, the only thing that killed us was the kindness of the Turkish people we met.

Kissed By The Sun
I have a love-hate relationship with the weekends. They take forever to show up and are too short to enjoy. I was having a good night's sleep the night before I will be up before the sun rises. 6 am on the dot I roll over and to look out the window, and I see the sun slowly rising. As I roll on my back to stare at the ceiling, my mind seems to race on what activities I want to accomplish on my first day of "freedom." I'm a planner. My Google calendar consists of every color of the rainbow to color coordinate my life. But today I'm putting my planning on the back burner, and I'm deciding to go with what my heart tells me. First things first, check the weather. I reach for my phone and tap on the weather app to see with the next five days will be. A relaxed and breezy 72 degrees in San Diego sounds perfect. Finally, I can pull out that blue dress that I planned on wearing months ago.

Stuck Inside: Quaran-dreaming of My Home
#PostcardsfromtheWorld. Search that hashtag and you’ll find snaps from some of the most exotic, gorgeous, drool-worthy locations on the globe. Sites like Travel + Leisure have been letting us go on virtual vacations for weeks now, knowing that no one is going on a real life vacation any time soon. We all sit inside, scrolling from one incredible photo to the next, dreaming of the day we get to visit Phuket, Rome, Belize, Patagonia, Madrid, South Africa or Palm Springs. All we want is OUT! Out of our current situation. Out of our houses. Away from the coronavirus and the news and the deaths and destruction.

Colorado Dreams
I traveled to Denver, Colorado, three months prior to asking for my divorce. I was officially attending a networking event for writers. However, I spent most of the trip wandering around the city, performing some type of walking meditation. With assistance from THC-infused chocolate, I allowed my mind to relax and my perspectives to shift.
