Justice is a Dish Served Hot!
We Avs fans were still left seething over the injustice that was done to our MVP, Nathan MacKinnon, on Tuesday. Darnell Nurse bowls Mack over towards goalie Connor Ingram, resulting in Ingram's injury. Now, the officials knew that was the case, but what did they do? Gave him five and ten; major penalty, game misconduct, out of the game. The Avs lost because the refs did literally everything in their power to help the Oilers, including unjustly ejecting our MVP.

History of The Three Stooges (Part I: The Beginnings and Columbia Pictures - 1920s-1936)
I have been itching to write about The Three Stooges on Vocal for close to two years, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. I wanted to do it by third Stooge, but that's a bit complicated. I know this much. I was about eight or nine years old when I first saw The Three Stooges. I remember one of my local channels had the Stooges on for hours, and I tried my damnedest to be up for those shorts. I remember that the Family Channel actually had an hour of the Stooges on from 11PM to midnight, and it was the entire library on during that time.

Drew McIntyre Was NOT Screwed Over, Stop Pretending He Was
A few days have passed since this happened, but I still wanted to address this. So on the latest edition of SmackDown, the main event featured Drew McIntyre vs Cody Rhodes for the former's WWE Championship. It was on the Elimination Chamber's post-show that SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made the match after Drew crashed the tail end of the Elimination Chamber main event match and cost Cody the bout, which allowed Randy Orton to win it.

Welcome Back, Nazem Kadri
Some things just feel right, but more on that later. Coming off a big road win in Dallas, the Colorado Avalanche returned home and faced off against the other thorn in the division: the Minnesota Wild. This was big day game for the Avs, not just because of the division rivalry, but the fact that the Avs' deadline acquisitions would be playing at Ball Arena. Scott Wedgewood was in net against Jesper Wallstedt, and the game was off to an amazing start. Avs were shooting at will, bringing some early pressure towards Wallstedt.

NBA Playoff Push 2026: On the Rise
As I stated before in my last recap, until last week, I hardly write about the NBA. While I do talk about the NHL, NFL, and MLB quite a bit, the only time I mention the NBA is in game-by-game recaps of the Finals. It did change last week, and while I did state why I hadn't really written about the NBA on Vocal, but I still haven't said why my fandom has increased.

Stanley Cup Playoff Push 2026: Topsy-Turvy
The first week in March has come and gone, as has the NHL's Trade Deadline, which is always chaotic. I always enjoy the aura of the NHL's home stretch, but this year feels, well, special. It's different. The landscape is undergoing a drastic change this year. Narratives are shifting. The few constants in this league are dwindling. So may surprises are popping up, but one thing is very certain: this home stretch is absolutely spectacular!

Wheeling and Dealing
This was quite the day for the Colorado Avalanche! The Avs had two days off following the big 5-1 win in Anaheim, but there was no reast for us during that time. There was no rest for any of the NHL's 32 squads. It was that time of the year again: Trade Deadline. A lot of moving and shaking always takes place during any league's Trade Deadline, but the NHL seems to have the most lasting effects of deadline deals, as some trades made during that day have turned teams into champions.

My Hopes for the Women's Division at WrestleMania 42
It's that time again, fellow wrestling fans! The Elimination Chamber came and went, and now, it's the home stretch on the road to WrestleMania. As a sports fan, I can't help but compare this to home stretch periods in sports, especially in the NHL and NBA, mainly because WM will take place as both playoffs start. As always, I'm always thinking of the women's action, but before I talk about the subject at hand, I have to get this off my chest.

On Monday night, the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 4-2, in the first game of a three game road trip. The win increased our total to 40 victories, the first to reach the big 4-0 this season. We would not be done with Southern California quite yet, as we got right back to work the next day against the Anaheim Ducks; a Ducks team that is in a bad Pacific Division, but has a good chance of not only reaching the playoffs for the first time in eight years, they can also end up with home ice in (at least) the first round!

The Colorado Avalanche ended the month of February on a winning note, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks at home on the final day of the abbreviated month. The calendar turned to the very pivotal month of March, and on the second day of the month, the Avs landed in La La Land to face off against the Kings. The Kings had been struggling this year, they can't seem to find their footing. They've lost 14 games past regulation, which is tied with Vegas for the most, but at least Vegas has won a few more games. The Kings actually fired Jim Hiller as their head coach on Sunday, so this was their first game with DJ Smith at the helm.

NBA Playoff Push 2026: One Down, 19 to Go
As I mentioned in my first story about the Stanley Cup Playoff race, the month of March is a very eventful one in sports. It's not just the NHL that enters the home stretch, it's also the National Basketball Association as well. Here's the thing: those of you who have read my stories in the near five years that I've been writing on Vocal notice something. I hardly write about the NBA. I mention the NFL, NHL, and MLB a lot, and I write about the CFL, but not the NBA. The reason is this: the NBA's lack of parity let me down for years. The only time I mention the NBA here is when I do game-by-game recaps of the NBA Finals.
