Love in the Time of Wrestling
Combat Women's Wrestling had been in business for 14 years, and one of the promotion's big stars was Lena Pierce, nicknamed "The Iron Maiden" for her strong resolve. She had been wrestling for five years and boasted an impressive record in the ring, and had appeared to have seen it all in her time in the ring, until about a month ago.

Reviewing the Conclusion of "Cobra Kai"
We have a lot to talk about, and I just have this to say: prepare for spoilers and get your tissues ready. I wrote about this amazing show before, over a year and a half ago. I still remember when I first saw this. Thankfully, I had seen the movies before this, but it was September 2023, close to Labor Day, and I was under the weather. I was wondering if I had COVID (for the second time) or not, and at that time, I was very overweight. Fast forward 17 months and subtract 30 pounds, and we have reached the final five episodes of the entire series.

Gender-Flipped Villain Pitch: Grimlord (VR Troopers)
Anyone here remember VR Troopers? It can't be just me. About a year after Mighty Morphin Power Rangers premiered, we kids of the 90s were treated to the underrated classic known as VR Troopers, which was one of many gems given to us by Saban Entertainment. A near bit-by-bit copycat of MMPR, the series centered on a trio of teens--Ryan Steele, Kaitlin Star, and JB Reese, who, after stumbling upon a secret lab, receive the power to transform (they dare not use the word "morph" in another series) into the titular VR Troopers, and their mission is to save reality and virtual reality from the subject of this pitch: Grimlord.

A Long Time Coming (NHL Eastern Conference Playoff Picture)
Greetings, fellow puckheads! The 2024-25 NHL season has now reached the Four Nations Break; yes, instead of the usual All-Star Break that lasts a few days, this year, the NHL is taking a longer break for the anticipated Four Nations Face Off, which will see the NHL's best from Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the U.S. face each other in a round robin tournament. The break began following the NHL's minimal amount of games on Sunday, February 9 (Super Bowl Sunday), with the NHL season resuming on February 22.

The Scarlet Queen (Part 2)
Roxie Hart, one of Diamond Wrestling's top stars, stood tall in the face of many challenges in her four-year wrestling career. Despite this, Roxie didn't count facing a foe as lethal as the Scarlet Queen. Donning a reddish colored bodysuit, full mask, gloves with acrylic nails attached, and a golden crown, the Scarlet Queen attacked Roxie and delivered quite the sinister introduction. In the week that passed, Roxie had been taunted and pursued by the Scarlet Queen in the ring, while out of the ring, Roxie had the admiration of her stepsister, Gabi Prentiss, but dealt with criticism from her stepmother, Lori Prentiss.

The Scarlet Queen (Part 1)
In front of a huge crowd, a surreal scene took place inside the squared circle. In an event hosted by a promotion known as the Diamond Wrestling Association, one of their top young stars, Roxie Hart, was celebrating in the ring with another competitor, Empress Nikita. The two women just fought each other in a 25-minute match that served as the main event, and after the final bell sounded, both women--popular babyfaces--joined hands and showed their appreciation to the crowd in a very beautiful scene.

Super Bowl LIX Recap: Meet the New Boss
I've said this many times before; even as a diehard hockey fan, I cannot deny that Super Bowl Sunday is the best day of the sports calendar. The entire day is centered on that one big game. If you combine the pregame, the actual game, and the postgame celebrations, you're basically looking at about 12 hours centered on this game--literally half of the entire day. It's worth it, though. The Super Bowl gets grander and grander, and this edition, the 59th edition, is no different.

Simpsons Review: "Lisa the Greek"
One of the many, many things I love about the Super Bowl is the heavy promotion for the big game. That promotion often includes shows airing episodes centering on the Super Bowl, and The Simpsons was definitely no stranger to this. The long-running series brought up the Super Bowl quite a bit during their run, which began in 1989--during the San Francisco 49ers' run to winning Super Bowl XXIV. This review is about the first of these occasions, one of my favorite episodes, "Lisa the Greek."

Is There Anything More Beautiful Than Beating the Oilers?
The Four Nations Break is days away, as was another big game in another league, but for the Colorado Avalanche, this was our last game for a good bit. And how fitting that our last game before the break is against the Edmonton Oilers. For one, it's MacKinnon vs McDavid, that's always a main event matchup. And secondly, the next time we'll see MacKinnon, McDavid, and Makar? They'll be teammates representing Canada in Four Nations. Holy guacamole!

Rise of "Le Matriarche" (Part 2). Top Story - February 2025.
Wrestling fans all over Canada, and even all over the world, were still talking about what took place in Hamilton, Ontario. What started out as a planned confrontation ended with a brutal and shocking betrayal. Janine Brock, the World Champion of the Women's Wrestling Brigade, had been taunted and teased by the mysterious Le Matriarche, a notorious Quebecoise wrestling villainess looking to rule WWB. During all of this, Janine confided in her friend and mentor, Collette Shannon, a wrestling legend and a fellow Ontarian, regarding her ordeal.

Rise of "Le Matriarche" (Part 1)
The city: Calgary. The largest city in the province of Alberta. A city placed in North America's Rocky Mountain region. Calgary has a rich sports history. The CFL's Stampeders have won the Grey Cup eight times. The NHL's Flames have had their share of legends such as Joe Nieuwendyk, Jarome Iginla, and of course, Lanny McDonald, the sage veteran of their 1989 Stanley Cup. But among other things, Calgary is known as a huge wrestling city, serving as the home of the famous Dungeon.

Did the Avs Win the Trade?
The Colorado Avalanche's last three games prior to the Four Nations break were all in Western Canada, and this old Northwest Division fan can't help but enjoy when the Avs go there. The Avs were division foes with the three teams in that area for 15 years before the divisions were realigned to their current look. The trip began on Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks, and that game saw the Avs blanked by Thatcher Demko. Next up, it's back-to-back in Alberta, and the first half of the double dip sees us in Calgary against the Flames.
