The History of "Saved by the Bell" (Part III: The New Class)
On May 22, 1993, the original Saved by the Bell run ended with the core sextet donning their caps and gowns and receiving their high school diplomas. That episode marked the end of the original TV series, though the saga with that group continued on with two telefilms, with a continuation series, Saved by the Bell: The College Years wedged in between. College Years premiered right after the graduation finale episode, but that was not the only bit of continuation that the series would receive.

Damsel
Netflix has really cranked out the original content this year, and I am behind on all of it. Milly Bobby Brown’s Damsel serves up a pretty basic twist on a fantasy story. I think we all could tell from the first look that it was going to be your basic feminist fairytale, which isn’t inherently bad but it is all in the execution. And if we are being completely honest I don’t really have a lot of faith in Netflix writers. They seem more concerned about simply getting out content than creating and telling stories. But here we go with my actual review of Damsel.

Remembering Alain Delon
I'm trying to get over his death by re-watching Delon's greatest movies. I knew that he was sick and he himself was sure that he didn't have much time left in this life, but the news of his death still shocked me. It's like even when you know that people don't live forever, you hope that some will. I thought Delon would be forever.

The History of "Saved by the Bell" (Part II: Films and College Years)
Though Good Morning, Miss Bliss didn't last long--just a single season on the Disney Channel--NBC took the show, retooled it, and tinkered with the cast. As a result, Good Morning, Miss Bliss was transformed into the popular Saved by the Bell. The central cast included Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), Dustin Diamond (Samuel "Screech" Powers), Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle), and Dennis Haskins (Principal Richard Belding). This was the group that was featured on the Saturday morning series for all four seasons, from the freshman year up to the graduation from Bayside High School.

The History of "Saved by the Bell" (Part I: The Original Run)
We all love Saved by the Bell, don't we? It's one of those shows that we love so much that we can name various episodes based on even a simple sliver of a scene, or even by one or two lines. I don't think anyone who watched the show when it aired knew that it would become not only a phenomenon, but a known franchise as well, yet here we are.
