To the Bushes and Back: A Worst First Date Story
It was me, my college professor and possibly the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. Definitely the most beautiful women I'd ever been on a boat with. I was wearing a purple button-down shirt, tucked into my best pair of "dad jeans," with sunglasses and a white baseball cap that flaunted the financial services company I was working for at the time.

The Next One Will Be Better
How bad can he really be? I carefully applied my lipstick in the dim lighting of my dorm room, my outfit and hair style pre-approved by roommates and friends to be first date worthy. I stared into my reflection in the mirror and took a deep breath. Maybe this guy will be the one? Hopefully, he’s not a serial killer at the very least…

My Worst Date
#MyWorstDate I had an outside sales position. One of the reps came in town from Canon. We made our sales calls introducing the new products. Then we stopped at the River Walk for lunch at Dick's Last Resort. Sitting across the restaurant was a really attractive guy. Blonde hair, blue eyes, and nicely dressed. We kept exchanging glances. Well it was time to leave. He hadn't approached me. I got up to proceed to walk out and he stopped me. Basic hi introductions. He was from Kansas traveling through Texas. He asked for my phone number. Asked if I'd like to grab a friend for his friend and have dinner. Gave him my phone number and told him to give me a call.

The Modern Dating Game (Continued)
So there I was a few months out of my only adult relationship wondering how the hell I would ever connect deeply with someone of the opposite sex again. You become so comfortable with one person over 17 years that it seemed impossible to me that I would know the first thing about how to behave with someone new.

The First and Last Date
The dreaded bad date. Everyone has experienced them at one point or another in life. We dream of that first date going beautifully. We go out with hopes of a romantically memorable time. We then want to call up our best friend the next morning and spill details about how perfect it was. Before we know it, we are secretly envisioning a possible future together with this sudden special someone. However, sometimes life does not paint the picture we would have liked it to.

Date from Hell: 06/06/06
I received a call from an ex-lover who was now seeing someone I was friends with from the past. "Freddy, how are you doing?" Hearing her voice conjured memories of sex in the stairwells where we both worked, bathroom sex in restaurants, and rooftop sex in the middle of a rain storm. What the voice did not bring back to mind was the lunacy and evil, wicked scenes we played out in her apartment or on a bench in Central Park when she scratched my face.

Night of the Gargoyle
#MyWorstDate I pulled into the Seaport Diner in my brother's pickup on a Sunday night just after sunset. I would finally be meeting up with the girl I had been talking to online for the better part of the year. I was nervous. Meeting girls from the internet was not something I made a habit of doing, particularly back then. But I felt like she and I had something going on. From day one we just seemed to click whenever we would talk. So as nervous as I was I was also extremely hopeful. The fact that she was gorgeous in every picture I had ever seen of her probably contributed to that hope as well.

Electric Feel
So much has happened. So many hours have gone by. So many laughs have been had between us, so many tears shed. We have grown closer. I am closer to you than I have been with anyone else. There have been times when I have almost given up. On us. On me. On everything I've worked for and striven for my whole life. And there have been times when I've felt I have finally made it. I have finally found all I am meant to find in another person, and I never need to worry about being alone again. I have finally won.
