Instant Pot Cinnamon Honey Carrots
In my quest to find as many delicious Instant Pot recipes as possible, I have found perhaps the holy grail of carrot recipes. I am a huge fan of carrots. It’s possibly one of the best side dishes ever and always comes to mind whenever reminiscing about family dinners or events. Now those dinners were usually with my grandmother’s secret brown sugar glazed carrot recipe but the sweetness of the brown sugar is not missed one little bit. Perhaps the next recipe I cover will be my grandmother's grown sugar glazed carrots.

This is about how meatballs are prepared in European countries and you’ll see that there is so much more to them than just ground meat and spices.

Doughnuts and Me
Hi there! This is my first post and I could think of nothing better to yarn on about than my passion for baking doughnuts. My name is James and I have been baking from the age of 7. While my peers were out playing football or swapping Pokemon cards after school, I was in the kitchen making a mess (to the despair of my poor Mother). For years Mum was telling me, "Look James, you're fantastic at making cakes and I love eating them, but if you don't learn to clean up after you, I am going to have to take your wooden spoons and mixing bowls away". Over 15 years later I am still making a mess in the kitchen but to my Mother's delight, I have now learnt what a dishcloth is and does.

My Love for Baking
My love for baking started when I was a little girl. When I was growing up all my birthday cakes were homemade by my mom. As I got older I tried my luck at making my own birthday cakes for my birthday. Some cakes that I made I had help and some cakes that I made turned out good. During my last year of high school, I helped my mom bake a lot of delicious goodies for a school bake sale for project graduation at my school. I still love to bake cakes. cupcakes, cookies, and other sweet treats because it's fun and I need to practice my baking skills.

The Bourdain Effect
Today, I learned about the passing of Anthony Bourdain. I didn’t know him personally. I’m not going to gush about what a great guy he was and how unbelievably sad his passing is. I knew his TV personality. Undoubtedly, it contained at least some trace of the real man, but I can’t attest to that. And yes, it is unbelievably tragic. The same could be said for any life that is lost, no matter the circumstances. These sentiments aren’t new or unique. I can’t offer a glimpse into the mind or life of a man I’d never met and now, sadly never will. What I can do is explain how his life and what I was exposed to through him has changed me. How his shows changed my entire way of thinking about food and culture, and the way they are intertwined.

How to Make a Baklava, From the Betty Crocker International Cookbook
Baklava is really assembly required. Filo pastry is the key ingredient. You also need walnuts, almonds, and pecans. First, you prepare the honey syrup with mixing the nuts, although I forgot the spices. I didn’t even brush the pan with margarine. Oops. Big mistakes I will not make the second time around. One package filo pastry—and as you unfold the filo leaves, you put a damp towel to prevent drying, which I also didn’t do. I put stevia in the honey syrup. I used one cup of stevia. You put one and a half cups of water and two tablespoons lemon juice. I find that using the lemon can be a pain, but getting lemonade is better for things like lemon sauce.
